Oopbuy shipping to Germany and the EU
Short answer
A 2 kg clothing parcel to Germany started at ¥236.43 (about $39.56 at Oopbuy’s rate) on the cheapest DHL line, 7–14 working days, in Oopbuy’s estimator on 13 Oct 2026. 14 of 15 lines to Germany were marked “Tax free”, so customs is settled by the line. Since 1 July 2026 every parcel owes import VAT and, up to €150, a €3 duty per tariff line; an EU handling fee is announced for 1 November 2026.

EU customs rules, as of 13 Oct 2026
These apply to every parcel from China, whichever agent ships it.
No more €150 duty-free allowance
Since 1 July 2026 parcels from outside the EU no longer enter duty-free below €150 (Council Regulation (EU) 2026/382).
€3 flat duty per tariff line up to €150
As a transitional rule until mid-2028, parcels worth up to €150 pay a flat €3 customs duty per tariff line, not per parcel: a parcel with shoes and a hoodie is two lines, so €6. Above €150 the normal duty rate of each product applies.
Import VAT on every parcel
Import VAT has been due from the first cent since 2021 (Germany 19 %, Austria 20 %, France 20 %, Netherlands 21 %). It is charged on the goods value plus duty.
Handling fee from 1 November 2026 (announced)
An EU handling fee for e-commerce parcels is expected from 1 November 2026. The Dutch customs authority names €2 per declaration line; the delegated regulation had not been published on the check date, so the final amount and start date are still open.

Choosing a line
- Tax free lines settle duty and VAT inside the price. For most EU hauls that is the simpler choice: no bill at the door, no courier handling fee.
- Duties Payable by Recipient lines can look cheap but add duty, VAT and the carrier’s collection fee on delivery. Use the calculator before you pick one.
- Capacity on cheap lines runs out: on the check date one German DHL line showed “0 packages” left for the day (Oopbuy refreshes capacity at 12:00 China time).
- Volumetric weight decides the price of bulky parcels. Leave shoe boxes out, and only pay for vacuum packing if it actually reduces the volume.
- Declare the real value. Neither the line nor Oopbuy takes over the legal risk of an under-declared parcel; Oopbuy’s customs page puts returns, fines and taxes on the buyer.

Frequently asked questions
How long does Oopbuy shipping to Germany take?
In Oopbuy's estimator on 13 Oct 2026, the air and land lines to Germany listed between 7 and 25 working days; the cheapest ones 7 to 18. The one sea line listed 45 to 65 working days. Add the days your items need to reach the warehouse and pass QC.
What does “Tax free” mean on an Oopbuy line?
Oopbuy describes these lines as “duty-free parcel channel, commercial customs clearance”: the line clears the parcel through customs itself, so you should not receive a bill for duty or VAT at the door. The charges are not waived; they are part of what the line costs. Lines marked “Duties Payable by Recipient” leave customs to you, and the carrier bills you on delivery.
Do I still pay customs on parcels under €150?
Yes. Since 1 July 2026 there is no duty-free allowance any more. Up to €150 a flat €3 duty per tariff line applies, plus import VAT on every parcel. On a “Tax free” line that is settled by the line; on other lines the carrier collects it from you.
What declared value should I use?
The real value of the goods. Customs knows what clothing and shoes from China cost, under-declared parcels get inspected more often, and deliberate undervaluation is a customs offence. Oopbuy’s own terms put any customs consequence on you.
What is the new EU handling fee?
An EU handling fee for e-commerce parcels is announced for 1 November 2026. The Dutch customs authority names €2 per declaration line, but the delegated regulation had not been published when we checked, so the amount and start date are not final.
